Enterprise Rent-A-Car began operations in Iceland in 2014. Since then, the company has grown steadily and today operates a fleet of approximately 1,000 vehicles across both long-term leasing and short-term rentals.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is the world's largest car rental company, with operations in more than 90 countries and approximately 10,000 locations worldwide. Enterprise also owns and operates the Alamo and National brands, and together the three brands manage a global fleet of more than two million vehicles.
The company was founded in the United States in 1957 by Jack Taylor. The name "Enterprise" was chosen in honor of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, on which Taylor served during World War II.
